Guerlain built L'Homme Idéal around one unmistakable idea: bitter almond, smooth and a little addictive, set against woods. Each version pushes that almond in a new direction, from bright and citrusy to dark and resinous. This set lines up five of them so you can find the one that suits you.

• L'Homme Idéal Eau de Toilette - the original. Bergamot and cedar over bitter almond, vetiver and woods. Modern, gourmand-woody and easy to wear.
• L'Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum - a sweeter almond-praline heart over tonka bean, vetiver and warm woods. More depth, more polish.
• L'Homme Idéal L'Intense - bergamot and cardamom over almond, tonka bean, patchouli and woody amber. The darker, spicier evolution.
• L'Homme Idéal Extrême - almond and tonka bean settling into amber, vetiver and warm spice. Rich, resinous and smoldering.
